Trip Description: Experience the beauty of the southern Yukon. We'll take you hiking in Kluane National Park - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will go rafting on the Tatshenshini River and we paddle down the Takhine River from Kusawa Lake to Mendenhall Landing. We'll greet you at the airport and transfer you to the Hotel in downtown Whitehorse. The River View Hotel is located next to the Yukon River and within walking distance of all attractions,
restaurants, banks and stores.
Information meeting at the hotel and time for last minute shopping for outdoor equipment if needed. Stroll along the Yukon River with a possible visit of the Visitor Reception Centre and the
sternwheeler SS Klondike. Dinner on your own.  After breakfast at the hotel we'll depart Whitehorse for Haines Junction and Kluane National Park. At the park centre in Haines Junction we’ll visit the exhibits and watch the slide show. Lunch in Haines Junction (on your own), then drive to the Sheep Mountain Visitor Centre. From here we'll hike up Sheep Creek from where we can see Kaskawulsh Glacier on a good day. Dall Sheep and Grizzly Bear can often be seen on this hike as well. Hiking time is about 2 to 3 hours. Drive to Kathleen Lake where we'll camp for the night. Set up of tents and dinner at the campground. We'll share a great evening around the campfire with stories and songs. ^TOPAfter our breakfast at the camp we'll pack up our tents and drive to the Blanchard River where our adventure begins. Here you'll change into your rafting gear (wet suit, PFD and helmet) for the exciting trip down the Tatshenshini River. Before you board the raft you'll be instructed about how to paddle and handle the raft in any situation. Lunch en route on the banks of the river. After this fabulous trip we'll drive back to Haines Junction and on to Blue Kennels for our dog mushing experience: this is a hands on demonstration of dogs, harnessing and hitching to sleds. Introduction to mushing, training ride with buggy and stories about dog mushing followed by a BBQ dinner around the campfire in the dog yard. Our campsite for the night is only a few minutes away. Today the pitching of tents will be very quick and soon we'll fall asleep next to the Takhini River.  Breakfast in camp, followed by packing and preparations for our canoe trip. We'll load up the canoes and start our canoe trip with paddling instructions for a safe and fun trip on this beautiful river. En route we'll break for lunch on the shore of the river. We'll reach the Takhini River Bridge in mid-afternoon. Here we'll take out and load up our equipment for the drive to the Takhini Hot Springs where we'll soak in the hot water before returning to the Hotel. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant. ^TOPAfter breakfast we'll drive you to the airport for your flight home. Excluded:
